Cloud.Red provides access to the Application Study Tool (AST) by accessing the AST section under monitoring in Cloud.Red. AST impowers users to analyze, document, and visualize application delivery configurations on F5 BIG-IP systems, making it easier to manage, troubleshoot, and migrate applications.

To use AST through Cloud.Red, users will first need to configure which devices AST is enabled on. To do this, go to AST in the left-hand navigation under monitoring once AST has been enabled for your account by WorldTech IT.

If AST is not available, please reach out to WorldTech IT for more information on gaining access to AST through Cloud.Red

AST is configured at the Agent level in cloud.red. Select the blue cog next to the agents to pull up the configuration Wizard.

WARNING: Enabling AST will have an impact on the management plane of the F5s. Please test this against Dev boxes and ensure that there is no negative impacts to the devices in your environment before enabling on production devices.

After selecting the intended device group, select all data type that you would like to collect and confirm that AST is enabled for the device group in question. Select β€œUPDATE” at the bottom once the desired configuration is in place.

Once enabled, select the red launch button under actions to open up AST.

NOTE: The dashboards that ship by default in AST are control-locked and can only be modified when F5 makes a change that is pushed through a Cloud.Red AST update. To make any desired changes to these dashboards, users must copy the default dashboard and edit the copied version. Any custom dashboards, including copied ones, can be created and modified by users with edit permissions.
