These backups will be encrypted and stored at your chosen storage destination, and then removed from the BIGIP. Cloud.Red will securely manage the encryption key for the backup and the master key for the device (needed for RMA-style recoveries). The Cloud.Red interface provides an easy-to-use mechanism to download the backups as well as push them back to the BIGIP the backup was taken from.
The encryption key is not available for viewing
Before using Cloud.Red Backups, it’s important to understand the following:
  • Backup destinations are configured during the provisioning of the Cloud.Red Agent. During this process, the engineer will select the default storage destination for the Agent, which can be local storage or blob storage (advanced option, please discuss with WTIT engineering). Local storage will store the backups on the local filesystem of the Agent and does not require any customer credentials.
  • While backups can be taken on-demand from individual devices or device groups, backup scheduling is configured at the Device Group level. When onboarding a Device Group, customers can choose to enable or disable backups as desired.
